Civilian buildings in San Felices are of great importance, antiquity and preservation wise. Near one of the main entrances of the village we find La Alhóndiga, an old barn of the Dukes of Alba and now the House of Culture, which was built in 1587 by Rodrigo de La Gandara and Sebastian Morgado, built up with well squared granite ashlar. Right in the main square there are two worthy representations of civil buildings, the Town Hall, built in the sixteenth century, its facade is supported by seven monolithic columns without bases and capitals in the lateral gorges in the manner of shoes. Its second body shows four large balconies with stone frame moldings. The interior of the building also houses the jail, with benches, a fireplace and a latrine. An inscription inside reads "Carolus IV/1791" indicating the time of completion of the work. The contract was signed in June 1790 with architect Jose Francisco Pereira and two other colleagues who followed the entire plan and conditions given again by Manuel Martin. Opposite the Town Hall, on the other side of the square we can admire the Casa de los Mayorazgos (the House of Entailment), built in the sixteenth century, though their coats of arms have been placed at a later time. Finally, we should mention several houses of hewn stone facades located on the west side of the square, with beautiful wooden balconies adorned with latticework, dated the first half of the XVI century and, finally, the House of the Lords of Ron, among others. Other works already disappeared, of great importance at the time are the hospital and chapel of Rocamador whose origin dated back to XV century, and the hospital and chapel of La Merced, founded on the houses donated by clergyman Pedro del Corral in 1567 . One can enter the building, still preserved, through an arch of large segments of the late sixteenth century. Shortly after it was named as new hospital. During the War of Succession became a military hospital and as such it is known.
